2. People vs. Espinosa, G. R. No.153714-20 The Court sustained the acquittal of Vice- Governor Mario K. Espinosa for violation of the Anti-graft law on the ground that an alleged waiver of the constitutionally guaranteed right against double jeopardy must be clear and unequivocal, thus putting a halt to the practice of the Sandiganbayan in requiring “conditional pleas” from the Accused .
3. Pimentel vs. Office of the Excecutive Secretary, G. R. No. 158088, pending Petition for Certiorari arguing that the Executive has a ministerial duty to transmit the signed Rome Statute Creating the International Court to the Senate of the Philippines for the latter’s concurrence.
